Introducing the Leaders in Climate Change (LCCM) program

Leaders of Climate Change Management (LCCM) program has been developed to aid India’s ambitious climate targets by translating commitments into action on the ground. Starting in 2022, this program will build a pool of 5000 climate leaders across India over a period of 5 years.

The program will offer participants from different streams - both in the public and private sector - an opportunity to understand the links between their professional roles and climate positive action, and to feel confident about implementing such action.

The LCCM uses a unique multi phased ‘learning by doing’ approach, that offers scheduling flexibility to a learner, while being focused on their learning outcomes

The salient features of the program are:

  • Choice between basic course and advance course.
  • Blended learning with a mix of online and offline schedule.
  • Customized program for different sectors and industries.
  • Exposure visits*
  • Mentorship for project work.
  • Regular interactions with industry leaders via exclusive webinars and fireside chats.
  • Become part of an exclusive network of alumni called “community of practice”.
  • Future events and engagement activities.

*Exposure visits (domestic or international) are subject industry or organization specific budgetary support.

Methodology

The program is developed though a collaboration of efforts by organizations working towards sustainable developmental goals. Research organizations, educational institutes and government bodies have come together to design, develop and support a learning program that is customized to the needs of India. All this is made possible via various grants from generous donors and budgetary support from the government sector.
