Smart Cities Mission

Launched by the Government of India on 25 June 2015, the Smart Cities Mission aims to promote cities that provide core infrastructure, clean and sustainable environment and give a decent quality of life to their citizens through the application of smart solutions. The Mission aims to drive economic growth and improve quality of life through comprehensive work on social, economic, physical and institutional pillars of the city. 100 cities, selected through a two-stage competition, are being developed as Smart Cities.

National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA)

The National Institute of Urban Affairs is India’s leading national think tank on urban planning and development. It is an autonomous institution under the aegis of Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, Government of India. As a hub for generation and dissemination of cutting-edge research in the urban sector, NIUA seeks to provide innovative solutions to address the challenges of a fast urbanising India, and pave the way for more inclusive and sustainable cities of the future.

WRI India

WRI India, an independent charity legally registered as the India Resources Trust, provides objective information and practical proposals to foster environmentally sound and socially equitable development. Their focuses on building sustainable and liveable cities and working towards a low carbon economy. Through research, analysis, and recommendations, WRI India puts ideas into action to build transformative solutions to protect the earth, promote livelihoods, and enhance human well-being.

WRI India will also be providing the secretarial support for the program.

United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)

United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the global authority that sets the environmental agenda, promotes the coherent implementation of the environmental dimension of sustainable development within the United Nations system and serves as an authoritative advocate for the global environment.

UNEP supports Member States to ensure that environmental sustainability is reflected in development and investment planning and provides countries with the necessary tools and technologies to protect and restore the environment.

Administrative Training Institute, Mysuru

ATI is the apex training institute of the Government of Karnataka. Training programmes that are conducted on regular basis include Foundation Course for Gazetted probationers of the State Civil Services, Orientation courses for IAS / IFS probationers allotted to Karnataka cadre, refresher courses for Senior Officers, Training of Trainers and training on Gender Issues, Financial Management, Legal Issues and Computer Applications. The trainings are offered under 5 verticals namely, The Centre for Disaster Management (CDM), Public Private Partnership Cell (PPP), Centre for Social Justice and Equality, Centre for e-Governance and Data Analytics and Centre for Sustainable Development Goals.
